Catalog announces a $3.2m seed funding round, led by LocalGlobe, with additional participations from Helloworld, KIMA Ventures, Motier Ventures, ATI (Alain Tingaud) and few prominent business angels. This funding positions Catalog as a multichannel sales solution tailored for the specific needs of small to medium businesses (SMBs) selling products to other businesses, i.e. manufacturers/wholesalers selling products to resellers/professionals.

The future of B2B sales is (still) multichannel

B2B sales represent a significant market (20k+ billions euros), are multi-channel, and its sellers are much less equipped compared to the ones in B2C sales. Businesses involved in B2B transactions notably lack efficient solutions for nurturing their customer base and spend a considerable amount of time manually processing orders - leading to significant losses in growth and productivity.

We aim to help B2B sellers to navigate a tough period and prepare for the upcoming decades - and while developing a sales tool that replicates a B2B version of B2C eCommerce is highly appealing, it's not a sustainable strategy. B2B sales will persist in incorporating a variety of interactions (in-person, emails, calls, eCommerce), and SMB managers are justified in seeking a solution that enhances their sales across all channels without sacrificing the human touch. The opportunity is vast and we are thrilled to collaborate with leading brands on this journey.

Julien Bellemare, Co-founder & CEO of Catalog

As of today, Catalog’s clients benefit from:

10x less time per order - Catalog automatically imports all orders—regardless of their origin (email, in-person, eCommerce)—into the seller's system (e.g., ERP).

Increased number of orders - Catalog's in-app marketing tools facilitate ongoing customer engagement, strengthening relationships outside of in-person visits.

"This is the initial step towards a much broader vision of creating the new centerpiece for the global B2B sales system, akin to how Shopify revolutionized the D2C sales system, but adapted to the unique needs of B2B sellers through a multichannel approach", added Julien Bellemare.

The company launched just a year ago the initial version of its product with significant and growing adoption from its clients. Catalog serves B2B sellers across various sectors, and its current clients range from Home & Decoration (La Compagnie Dumas, Elitis) to Baby & Kids (Babymoov, Gamin Tout Terrain), fashion (Rivedroite Paris), and companies who sell industrial materials (Fimm, Gardette Group). After a few weeks, its clients observed a 10x increase in order management efficiency.

Catalog is backed by Hexa, the startup studio behind successful ventures such as Aircall, Spendesk, and Front.

Maxime Poitevineau-Millin, Co-founder & CTO of Catalog, said: "We launched an initial working solution in just a few months and recent breakthrough technological advancements enabled us to develop a multi-modal tool offering the flexibility required by multichannel sales, to quickly embark advanced features such as AI-based processing of orders received by emails, and to swift deployment for our clients. It is the best time to build Catalog!"

The seed funding round underscores the confidence in Catalog’s vision. The capital will primarily be used to fasten product development and expand Catalog's footprint in the French market across a list of carefully selected industry verticals.

George Henry, General Partner at LocalGlobe, said: "There are enormous segments of B2B commerce that have yet to experience the productivity and economic benefits of digital transformation. To succeed in the SMB market, new software products must deliver an experience that is not just better, but ten times better, while also embedding themselves successfully into their users' workflows. We are very excited about Catalog’s multi-product approach to digitizing the sales and ordering processes for wholesalers."
