Suzanne Ashman

General Partner

Suzanne works with founders reinventing the way we work and learn, with a particular interest in companies operating in regulated markets.

She is excited by the combination of software, payments and applied AI to reshape legacy industries. Suzanne has been working with founders across the portfolio on operationalising applied AI to boost productivity and profitability.

Her investments include: Motorway, Multiverse, Zego, Tessian (acq. by Proofpoint), Gamma, Tiney, Beamery, Echo (acq. by McKesson), and Calipsa (acq. by Motorola).

It is possible to be relentless, dynamic and ambitious; but also generous and compassionate. You need the former to be a good founder, and the latter to build a great team. Both are required for startup success.

Previously, Suzanne was part of the founding team at Social Finance, an impact investing firm focused on finding investable solutions to the world’s most complex problems. She worked across healthcare, education, criminal justice, and employment.

There are industries where we’re paying more and more for the same product with each passing year, whether it’s a university degree, a trip to work, or a medical procedure. Software can have a transformative impact on cost, productivity and user experience.

Suzanne was a co-author of the UK Government’s Tech Competitiveness Study (2019), which examined ways to strengthen the UK’s position as a leading destination to start, run and scale a digital business.

Suzanne read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Trinity College, Oxford. Away from work, she enjoys watching Chelsea FC and chasing after her two young sons.
